Hex Agent
Hex's cloud model: what it is, the free trial, and your allowance.
Hex Agent is Hex's cloud model, for tasks too big for a model on your Mac. It works in Chat and in Development, in the Mac app and in the web app. Hex chooses the model behind it and keeps it up to date, so you always just pick Hex Agent.
Try it free
Choose Hex Agent with the model button under the message box. The first time, Hex offers a free trial: no card needed, with a daily allowance. You need to be signed in (Settings → Account), because Hex Agent runs on Hex's servers.
Pro
Pro includes Hex Agent every month. Your allowance has two parts:
- This month: resets on the 1st.
- Today: a daily cap, so one busy day can't use the whole month. Resets at midnight UTC.
See where you are in Settings → Usage or Settings → Billing. When an allowance runs out, Hex says so in the chat; built-in models keep working.
What counts
Longer conversations, big files and long agent runs use more of your allowance than short questions. Starting a new chat, or /compact, keeps requests smaller.
Privacy
Messages you send to Hex Agent, and what the agent includes with them, go to Hex's servers and the AI provider Hex uses. Built-in models never send anything. See the privacy policy.
