The built-in browser

Browse alongside the agent, and let it read and use pages.

Open the browser with ⌘B. It works like a normal browser with tabs, and the agent can use it too:

  • Read the page you're on, click, type into fields and take screenshots.
  • Switch between phone, tablet and desktop widths to check a layout.
  • Find local dev servers on your Mac from the new-tab page.

Use Send to agent or the element picker to hand a page, or one element on it, to the chat.

Links in chats can open in the Hex browser or your default browser. Choose in Settings → General → Links.

Bring your bookmarks and history

In Customize → Browsers, Import into Hex's browser copies your bookmarks, history and default search engine from Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Brave, Edge, Arc, Opera or Vivaldi. Pick the browser (and profile), tick what you want, and click Import.

  • Bookmarks appear on the new-tab page and are suggested as you type in the address bar.
  • It's a one-off copy. Nothing is changed in the other browser, and nothing syncs back.
  • Passwords, cookies and sign-ins are not imported, so you'll sign in to sites again in Hex's browser.
  • The search engine can be copied from Chrome-based browsers when it's Google, DuckDuckGo, Brave or Bing.
